Duane Hewitt is a writer and author with a background in Writing, Publishing, Business, and Music. He studied at the University of Alberta, Alberta College and the Royal Conservatory of Music. He has worked in sales, marketing, advertising, business development, and communications, and has extensive experience in both business and creative writing as well as in publishing.
Duane’s writing portfolio includes extensive writing for one of the leading media groups in Ontario, Metroland Media, for which he has written hundreds of articles on topics of general interest, lifestyle, arts and culture, health and healthcare, business, finance, and law, as well as promotional writing for the company’s many clients. He has also written substantially for different businesses in functions of business and marketing, with a repertoire that includes business and marketing plans, press releases, blogs and articles, website content, scripts, and more.
Hewitt is the author of a number of books, including novels, novellas, and collections of short prose – five of which have been sold in major book stores across the U.S. and Canada. One of these, a short novella titled A Man and a Dog, has twice been optioned for movie rights. His book Grendel and Other Tall Tales was on the 12th grade suggested reading list for the Harris County High School Literature Department in Georgia, USA for four consecutive years.
